Superstitions and the Supernatural

Currently now in the 21st century many still believe in various superstitions. Superstitions that date as far back as during the ancient times. One of the most old and common superstitions known today is the "Black Cat Superstition". Black cats nowadays are considered bad luck but as a specific owner of  one I think it is untrue. Back during ancient times in Egypt, cats were considered special and very significant. Many people especially cared for them for they thought they were associated with gods. As time progresses during the Middle Ages in Europe that is when people began to think cats especially black cats were bad luck. Many thought that cats back then were accompanying witches and assisting them with witch craft. The hysteria for witch craft during the Middle Ages impacted the reputations for these feline creatures. It created such a memorable impact that some people today still believe in such a superstition.
